Function, Google Health link lab tests with wearable data

Later this fall, US users will be able to share Function’s lab results in the Google Health app, combining bloodwork with data from Google’s wearables, including resting heart rate, sleep, heart rate variability, and cardio load.

  • The goal is to connect daily behaviors with underlying biology via cardiovascular, metabolic, hormone, and nutrient health insights that wearables alone can’t provide.
  • Google Health Coach will integrate lab results and personal health information to tailor guidance around users’ routines and goals.

By bringing siloed health data into one experience, Function and Google are providing a clearer picture of how habits impact health over time.

Future adds DEXA scans

The platform is making body composition scans part of its personalized health coaching, partnering with BodySpec to offer DEXA scans across 15 metropolitan markets.

  • The scans measure body fat, visceral fat, lean muscle mass, and bone density, providing members with annual or quarterly visits.
  • The partnership connects clinical-grade measurement from BodySpec with ongoing guidance from Future coaches.

Rather than treating a scan as a standalone snapshot, Future is equipping coaches with new tools to adjust plans and track changes over time.

ROSE launches at-home water testing

The exposure health company launched with a debut at-home water quality test, screening for 100+ toxins—including PFAS—that affect overall health in under five minutes.

  • The test analyzes a single tap-water sample through an ISO-certified laboratory, then delivers results and personalized treatment recommendations.
  • Taking a test-before-treat approach, the company aims to help consumers identify potential issues before spending money on filtration or other interventions.

It also plans to expand beyond water: a biomarker product focused on environmental exposure is expected in early 2027, with air, mold, and product testing among its longer-term ambitions.
