Wearables aren’t just tracking health, they’re decoding biology.

Google partners with Flo

Google Health is partnering with Flo Health to improve insights around women’s health conditions, including perimenopause, PCOS, and endometriosis.

  • Starting next year, Flo’s more than 80M monthly users will be able to sync cycle data with Fitbit metrics, including sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, and skin temperature.
  • The multi-year partnership also includes plans for co-branded products and joint research into how hormonal changes affect sleep, mood, and energy.

The deal builds on a wider push by wearable companies like Oura, WHOOP, and Apple to deliver more personalized health insights for women navigating different stages of life.

Sava scales its next-gen CGM

The UK-based biosensor company raised a $36M Series B led by Ascensia Diabetes Care to accelerate commercialization and distribution across its network of 29 countries.

  • Sava’s sensor uses a microneedle 10x shorter than traditional designs, measuring molecules just below the skin’s surface in real time. The goal is to make glucose tracking more affordable and less painful.
  • The company is also pursuing European CE approval for glucose monitoring while piloting sensors that can track multiple biomarkers.

Democratizing preventative health, Sava aims to break the manufacturing duopoly held by Abbott and Dexcom while expanding use to additional biomarkers and broader consumer use.

NFL invests in flag football

The NFL is investing millions of dollars into flag football to fuel participation, especially among girls.

  • More than 100K US high school girls played flag football during the 2025–26 school year, up 48% YoY and 550%+ over five years. The NFL estimates roughly 800K girls ages 6 to 17 now play in some capacity.
  • The league’s investment will fund youth programs, equipment, and a planned professional league for men and women. Women’s flag football is also expected to become an NCAA championship sport, ahead of its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

By creating a new entry point for girls and families, the NFL is building the next generation of players and fans.
