FitLab’s XPT Readies First Brick-and-Mortar Studio

XPT

High performance has a new home.

What’s happening: XPT, a training program created by husband-and-wife pro athletes Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece, will open its first brick-and-mortar site in Newport Beach, CA.

The new “performance wellness” studios will feature guided ice bath, sauna, and breathwork experiences for goal-oriented outcomes.

Legendary Longevity

Born out of the duo’s daily routines, XPT’s holistic, science-backed practices gained a following.

Feeding its ethos, Hamilton’s big-wave surfing accolades and famed athleticism at 60 years old inspired a subscription app, retreats, and instructor certification — plus an unaffiliated nutrition business, Laird Superfood.

Riding the swell. XPT Studio will offer private and group sessions, including 75-minute classes designed to hone versatility and resilience.

Against the grain, it will opt for hotter saunas and colder ice plunges than typically found in wellness studios to maximize their benefits.

Powered by FitLab’s integrated fitness platform—which just secured $65M in financing to push expansion—XPT will look to scale following its upcoming opening.

Looking ahead: From gyms to wellness studios to social clubs, cold plunge-sauna combos are in demand. To stand out, XPT Studio is going beyond break-fix recovery by making high-performance wellness a proactive pursuit.
