Social wellness is coming to London’s South Bank.

What’s happening: Real estate investor Hines will break ground on a massive wellness-focused development called The Round later this year.

Featuring office space, residences, and fitness facilities, the project—completed by 2030—places community and social well-being at its core.

Built with benefits. Optimized for connection, movement, and mindset, the 1.8-acre “village” aims to remedy harmful societal issues like social isolation, poor mental health, and obesity.

Along with air and water filtration, biodiverse terraces and gardens, cultural programming, and an app encouraging residents to gather offline, the futuristic development will be fossil fuel-free, 100% electric, and Net Zero Carbon in operation.

Top tier. Building on the infrastructure, Hines is tapping Pillar Wellbeing to elevate its wellness offering.

Amenities like nap pods, digital detox rooms, sauna and cold plunge, and access to clinically crafted nutrition will complement a gym, swimming pool, Pilates studio, and meditation classes.

Looking ahead: Shifting from an option to an obligation, developers are creating communities built to optimize the way we live, with The Round set to raise the standard for Londoners.
