Longevity Supplements Lack Key Ingredients

Overpromise, underdeliver.
Row of pills

NAD+ is testing negative.

Empty claims. Quality testing by SuppCo found that half of the top-selling NAD+ supplements on Amazon contain 0% or negligible amounts of the compound.

Similarly, Niagen Bioscience reported that 11 of 21 products tested had no detectable NAD+, while just 13% of labels for precursor product NR were accurate.

Foundation of youth. Known for its role in DNA and cellular function, NAD+ declines with age.

Riding longevity hype, brands are positioning it—and precursors NR and NMN—as solutions for energy, metabolism, brain health, and cardiovascular function. But without clear dosage guidelines, scientific consensus, or regulatory oversight, the market is flooded with underdosed and mislabeled products.

Hot buy. The Vitamin Shoppe says NAD+ searches are up ~500% YoY, with longevity supplement sales growing 91% in Q1 — 90% of which came from NAD+.

Becoming a staple at wellness clinics, Equinox Hotels added in-room NAD+ supps and spa IVs, while brands like Barrière launched NAD+ skin patches, expanding beyond pills and drips.

Punchline: Wellness consumers will do almost anything to fight aging. Chasing the magic pill, poorly regulated NAD+ products are multiplying — with few safeguards to stop them.
