Lucille Health is shaking up senior nutrition.

What’s happening: The company launched high-protein, high-fiber shakes to help older adults combat frailty, muscle loss, and digestive issues tied to aging.

Get real. Lucille’s high-calorie, seed oil-free formula includes “whole-food” ingredients like milk proteins, chicory root fiber, and date syrup alongside a comprehensive vitamin mix.

Designed for real life, it’s easy to open, drink, and finish. Scaling access, it’s available on Amazon, with distribution expanding to assisted living communities.

Age gap. As appetite declines and chronic conditions complicate nutrition, older adults need more nutrient-dense, palatable supplementation. With 20% of Americans over 65 by 2030, the $6.2B senior meal replacement market is set to take off.

Old guard. Abbott-formulated Ensure topped $3B in 2024 sales, with higher-protein launches continuing to bolster its nutrition segment. Meanwhile, Nestlé reformulated BOOST to support healthy aging and GLP-1 users.

But, touting long ingredient lists and sick stigma, older consumers and their caregivers are demanding better, yet feeling aged out on alternatives. While clean-label shakes from Huel, OWYN, and Kate Farms surge with younger crowds, <1% of new food and bev targets older adults.

Punchline: Inviting the silver generation into a golden age of wellness, Lucille wants to help older adults proteinmaxx with a shake built for how they actually live.
