The next generation is here.

WHOOP has a new view on performance.

What’s happening: The health and fitness tracking platform unveiled WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG wearables, adding features for hormonal health, longevity, and medical-grade heart monitoring.

Elevating its ethos beyond elite performance, the company’s hardware and software releases reflect its new mission to support lifelong vitality.

5.0. Touting faster processing speeds, longer battery life, and more accurate sleep tracking, its upgraded 5.0 wrist-worn device also debuts firsts for the brand:

  • Healthspan: Derived from nine key biomarkers, users receive WHOOP Age and Pace of Aging scores while gaining lifestyle insights for reducing them.
  • Hormonal Insights: Integrating menstrual cycle tracking with physiological data, women receive personalized coaching tailored to their life stage.
  • Health Monitor: Measuring vitals, it checks for early symptoms of illness.

MG. Layering medical-grade ECG sensors, its MG device provides on-demand checks for irregular rhythms like AFib or out-of-range HR, generating a shareable PDF for family or docs.

Blood Pressure Insights, in beta, estimates systolic/diastolic pressure ranges upon waking, then contextualizes the reading to performance, recovery, and overall well-being.

Step by step. Of note, WHOOP’s three new membership tiers pre-designate the experience.

At $199/yr., its One membership unlocks 5.0 with hormonal health. To access Healthspan and Health Monitor, you’ll need $239 Peak. For any MG-equipped features, it’s $359 Life.

OS. Setting the stage for a Personal Health OS, WHOOP will launch blood testing later in ’25, providing coaching to improve cardiovascular and metabolic health, inflammation, and more.

Punchline: For those waiting four years for WHOOP’s 5th gen, its double drop is unexpected. But as Oura, Apple, Samsung, and others build integrated platforms beyond a signature wearable, it’s no surprise.
