Xella Health is fine-tuning women’s diagnostics.
What’s happening: The precision health company launched its multi-omic diagnostics platform, using AI to sequence genomics and other inputs to screen for female-specific conditions.
In sequence. Xella uses AI to decode biomarker data across genomics, proteins, and hormones, plus self-reported symptoms and lifestyle behavior. Identifying root causes, it calculates risk and clinical recommendations for 130+ diseases uniquely affecting women, including PMOS, Hashimoto’s, and endometriosis.
Raising a $3.7M pre-seed and amassing a 15K-woman waitlist, Xella is already in demand as women seek greater clarity and contextualized care.
Closing the loop. In the past year alone, women’s healthcare has taken major steps, but from family docs to AI chatbots, care is often dispensed through a lens trained on male data.
Routinely misdiagnosed for heart disease and autoimmunes, women suffer symptoms for years and miss crucial preventative actions. Even for female-only conditions, patients can wait up to 10 years for an endometriosis diagnosis.
Punchline: Aiming to “replace systemic medical gaslighting,” Xella co-founder Kelly Lacob wants to make indisputable biological data the standard for women’s care.
