F45 is putting hybrid fitness to the test.

What’s happening: The functional fitness franchise launched PEAK500, a new in-house competition.

Up to the test. Evolving its biannual Playoffs benchmark, the 30-minute challenge tests capacity, output, and mental toughness over five standardized, timed stations — with member performance ranked on a global leaderboard.

Doubling up. Riding HYROX’s hype, gyms and studios are embracing fitness-as-a-sport to attract and engage members.

All in, F45 sponsors 12 global HYROX events while hosting in-studio programming and co-branded run clubs. But CEO Tom Dowd is thinking bigger, positioning PEAK500 as a platform that can “grow into larger fitness events both inside and outside the studio.”

Punchline: Built on hybrid fitness, F45 is embracing community and competition to keep members striving toward peak performance.
