Nomio Scales Broccoli Performance Shot

Green boost.
Nomio Broccoli Shots
Nomio

Nomio believes broccoli is a performance-enhancer.

What’s happening: The Swedish startup is scaling its endurance-boosting shot across elite sport, backed by a ~$4M investment led by Collaborative Fund.

Bottoms up. The 60ml pre-workout drink combines bioavailable isothiocyanates (ITCs) derived from broccoli sprouts with lemon juice, and sugar. Taken hours before intense activity, it’s shown to reduce lactate levels by up to 12% while activating antioxidant defenses, supporting higher output and faster recovery.

Secret stuff. Launched in January 2025, Nomio has seen rapid adoption from elite runners, including American indoor mile record-holder Cole Hocker and European multi-distance champion Andreas Almgren.

Built on science and community, Nomio’s proving to be a competitive advantage — spreading organically among cyclists, triathletes, and Olympians.

Only available in the US via sports nutrition marketplace The Feed, Nomio will expand selectively to maintain connection with its high-performance users.

Trickle down. Initially focusing on pros, Collab Fund’s Guy Vidra believes Nomio could become as ubiquitous as Gatorade — with the brand undertaking research to link ITCs to mitochondrial function for sleep, cognition, and inflammation.

Punchline: Using elite sports as a wedge, it’s only a matter of time until Nomio reaches everyday consumers. And in today’s performance-obsessed culture, nothing spreads faster than a legitimate leg up.
