President Donald Trump has signed an executive order creating a new women’s health division within the National Institutes of Health.
The initiative aims to accelerate research, improve diagnosis and treatment, and get findings into clinical care.
Priorities include conditions that disproportionately affect women, from endometriosis and menopause to cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s.
The new division must be established within 90 days and will work alongside the NIH’s existing Office of Research on Women’s Health.
The move comes as the administration has also pursued cuts to NIH funding and research programs.
Municipal brings clinical care to the gym
Mark Wahlberg is taking the gym-as-clinic model into the big-box fitness market.
His forthcoming Municipal Gym will offer consultations, blood work, and epigenetic testing for $99, with access to prescription treatments including testosterone and hormone replacement therapy.
The first location is a 32,000-square-foot facility in Nevada, scheduled to open in December.
The model aims to combine premium health services with the scale and affordability of a traditional big-box gym.
Unravel raises £2.5M for home hormone testing
London-based Unravel Health has raised #3.3 million to bring lab-style hormone testing into the home.
Its palm-sized Micro Lab analyzes saliva samples in minutes, decoding key hormones.
Unravel expects to put its first early-access devices into users’ hands in 2027, starting with women’s health before expanding into men’s health.
The funding will support further testing, development of new hormone markers, and the start of FDA regulatory approvals.
The goal is to give users repeated readings over time, rather than relying on occasional blood tests or the estimates provided by wearables.
