Juno Bio is bringing vaginal diagnostics in-house.
What’s happening: The women’s health company raised $3.8 million to open its first CLIA-certified sequencing lab and launch its clinically actionable vaginal microbiome and STI test.
In house. Juno Bio’s at-home test analyzes ~10K bacteria and fungi alongside four common STIs, pairing results with clinician-guided care spanning infections, fertility, perimenopause, and menopause.
Selling 20K+ wellness tests to date, the company is vertically integrating its diagnostics platform, using the funding to build a first-of-its-kind facility — enhancing speed, accuracy, and proprietary data collection beyond conventional tests.
New frontier. According to company data, two-thirds of women receive an incorrect diagnosis for vaginal issues — leading to only 13% getting proper treatment. Closing the loop on care, Juno Bio and more companies like Evvy, Wisp, and Daye are linking precise testing to care.
Punchline: Vaginal microbiome testing was an unlock. Doubling down, Juno Bio is building the lab infrastructure and differentiated dataset to redefine the standard of care for women’s health.
