Life Time Expands Fitness Living Concept

Life Time

Life Time just unveiled a fitness community in Nevada.

What’s happening: The high-end gym chain began leasing apartments in a luxury, 149-unit residential complex next to one of its “athletic country clubs” in Henderson, Nevada — creating a 16.5-acre, all-inclusive village for the wellness-obsessed.

Fitness is Life

After more than three years in development, the latest edition of the brand’s Life Time Living segment is welcoming new tenants.

Starting at $2,950/mo., the semi-furnished apartments are secondary to the wellness perks residents receive. Along with access to Life Time Green Valley’s gym, pool, spa, and pickleball courts, concierge services include:

  • Weekly meal deliveries and customized meal prep
  • Nutritionists and personal chefs on request
  • In-residence LifeSpa services from estheticians and massage therapists

Built for community and socializing, the complex features a private pool, work lounge with coffee bar, and reservable dining room and bar spaces.

Compound interest. Life Time Living fits into the gym chain’s broader strategy. Announced earlier this year, Life Time reintroduced its gyms as “athletic country clubs,” creating upscale experiences that fulfill nearly all the worldly needs of healthy people — work, play, socializing, and dining.

Along with the shift in thinking, Life Time raised its membership dues across the board, with CEO Bahram Akradi recently admitting the health club’s path to success is having fewer members paying higher prices.

And an all-inclusive, resort-style fitness village caters precisely to a segment that can’t put a price on wellness.

Looking ahead: With Life Time Living developments underway in Dallas and Miami, we may not be far off from full-blown fitness towns. But increased wellness real estate doesn’t mean greater access. This isn’t a health retreat for those seeking a radical lifestyle change; it’s an exclusive community for the already-fit.
