Ambient wellness is exposing hidden toxins.

What’s happening: MoldCo, a virtual clinic for mold and environmental toxin exposure, raised an $8M seed round to expand its care network.

Biofeedback. Now in 46 states, the company uses advanced bloodwork to detect mold toxicity, with specialists prescribing binder supplements and peptide therapies to remedy conditions like chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS).

A strategic ally, MoldCo CEO Ariana Thacker recently joined the board of home health diagnostics company Goodhome to advise on identification and remediation.

Haunted house. Mold toxicity is still dismissed by most doctors. But exposomics, the study of how environmental exposure affects personal health, is gaining acceptance — for good reason.

25% of chronic conditions, and ~20% of global deaths are linked to the environment. Homes aren’t a safe haven — half show signs of mold or dampness, with indoor air quality 2–5x worse than outdoors.

Add the burden of PFAS, microplastics, and pesticides, and the walls are closing in.

Looking ahead: As home diagnostic companies like Goodhome and Lightwork scale up, and MoldCo standardizes the detox, ambient wellness will become another pillar of preventative care.
