One Playground Expands Wellness “Superboutiques”

What’s happening: The Aussie fitness operator will add clubs in Sydney suburbs Haymarket, Merrylands, and Victoria Cross this year.

Evolving from fitness-only spaces to holistic health hubs, One Playground’s “superboutiques” will each offer unique concepts.

Play hard. Following the success of its Surry Hills wellness club Urban Oasis, Merrylands is debuting a “relaxed,” light-weight lifting space, and the four-story North Sydney (Victoria Cross) site will feature private infrared saunas and ice baths, small-class reformer sessions, and a dedicated strength training floor.

Scaling “everything under one roof,” members gain 24/7 access to its network of seven sites, 1.5K weekly classes, and community events.

Social gain. Across Australia, operators are reenvisioning fitness for social wellness.
