Digital fitness is now streaming.

What’s happening: Spotify launched a fitness vertical, partnering with Peloton and independent creators like Chloe Ting and Yoga with Kassandra to deliver guided workouts.

Health hub. Available to all users, Spotify Fitness spans strength, cardio, yoga, and meditation, while premium subscribers unlock 1.4K+ Peloton classes. Positioned as a “wellness companion,” users can follow video sessions, guided runs, and audio meditations across devices.

Fitness Is Spotify's Premium Retention Engine

Activated. Already engaged, 70% of Spotify premium users work out monthly, fueling 150M+ training-related playlists.

Stacking fitness, the platform is taking on YouTube, where 88% of users engage with health content — with over half (53%) of them accessing exercise and bodybuilding videos. Still a go-to, dedicated fitness apps generated $3.4B in 2025 (up 24.5% YoY), led by Peloton and Apple Fitness+.

Hoping to outperform previous app-meets-multimedia plays—like Netflix x Nike Training and Peloton x TikTok—Spotify’s partnership with a top app and some of YouTube’s most-followed fitfluencers is a valuable add-on for subscribers.

Punchline: With distribution, data, and daily engagement, Spotify is formalizing its health influence, aiming to be a premium companion to every workout.
