Maxxing. Biotech entrepreneur and Enhanced founder Christian Angermayer recently shared his “human maximization” thesis with the NYT, arguing the “next human agenda” is using science and technology to maximize life — optimizing attributes rather than eliminating disease.
Worldview. Rejecting enhancement as vanity, Angermayer sees looksmaxxing’s rise as evidence of consumer demand and vouched for off-label GLP-1 use as “outsourced discipline.” Just the beginning, he’s bullish on new drugs for hair loss, muscle growth, and sexual pleasure.
Pipeline. His business ventures reflect this shift, with Compass Pathways and AtaiBeckley advancing psychedelic medicines, Enhanced Games promoting FDA-approved performance enhancers, and new biotech companies pursuing therapies for muscle growth and menopause.
Of note, he remains skeptical of most peptides, arguing the science isn’t mature enough.
Looking ahead: Angermayer is betting programmable human enhancement will upend old-school behavior change, making performative wellness obsolete.
