The90 is bringing data to sun care.

What’s happening: The wearable maker unveiled Gem, a smart pendant measuring real-time UV exposure for preventative skin health.

Shine bright. Tracking both UVA and UVB rays, The90 Gem analyzes exposures against a personalized skin profile to deliver guidance on UV thresholds, sun exposure windows, and sunscreen reapplication timing.

Targeting women, it’s raising funding, with The Skinny Confidential founder and podcast host Lauryn Bosstick already on board as an investor and advisor.

Even glow. ~90% of skin aging is caused by UV exposure—and any amount of tanning causes DNA damage—but most consumers rely on generic UV forecasts to optimize intake or take precaution.

With experience at Fitbit and Movano (Evie Ring), The90 co-founder Stacy Salvi is pairing wearable tech with jewelry-inspired design to make sun monitoring a daily skincare habit.

Looking ahead: A paradox, tanlines are en vogue, but longevity aesthetics requires preventative nurturing. The90’s Gem aims to be the intelligence layer navigating safe doses.
