CrossFit’s alt-Games are taking on HYROX.
What’s happening: XENOM, a new fitness competition series, raised $15M to launch stadium-scale global events for CrossFit and hybrid athletes.
V2. A licensed CrossFit Partner Event supported by equipment maker Rogue Fitness, XENOM debuts at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility this June, with stops in London, Miami, and Paris forming an 11-city inaugural season.
Unlike the Games, where challenges change annually, XENOM standardizes competition with 10 fixed events and decathlon-style scoring.
Join ’em. Calling a truce, CrossFit said there’s no rivalry with HYROX, adding the two could and should coexist.
But with fitness-as-a-sport going mainstream, HYROX’s standardized format is proving easier to scale — powering licensed training, equipment, apparel, and travel in a way CrossFit has struggled to match.
Looking ahead: As fitness races and hybrid games multiply, XENOM plans to re-energize CrossFit affiliates, leveraging network, brand ethos, and infrastructure to build the “defining cultural platform” for high performance.
