Therabody and Oura Partner to Optimize Sleep

Oura

Therabody is teaming up with Oura to optimize sleep.

What’s happening: Therabody, a wellness tech company, struck a partnership with the smart ring maker that shares products, content, and data between the two wellness ecosystems.

What they’re getting: Therabody gains real-time biometric feedback that can pair with its recovery and mental health tools, optimizing its user experience and adding yet another wellness extension for the brand: sleep. A new “sleep protocol” developed with Oura will be available in the Therabody app.

Oura, in turn, is integrating licensed TheraMind sound therapy content with its app, syncing guided sessions with a post-meditation dashboard displaying heart rate, heart rate variability, and skin temperature. It’ll also enable a Theragun product integration that will impact Readiness scores.

As part of the agreement, all Reset by Therabody locations will sell Oura’s Gen3 ring.

What it means: As consumers’ pursuit of well-being skews holistic, both companies are aiming to become more well-rounded — through partnerships, integrations, acquisitions, and more.

Therabody. Beyond its original massage gun, Therabody’s product extensions and experiential service highlight its transformation into a whole-body wellness company.

In the past couple months, Therabody has raised $165M, launched eight new products (like a stress-relieving eye mask), and cut the ribbon on numerous Reset retail clinics.

Oura. In addition to collaborating with Gucci, Oura is helping users unlock health data. Since reaching 1M subscribers and a $2.55B valuation in an April funding round, the ring maker has partnered with athlete social media site Strava and birth control app Natural Cycles.

Takeaway: New sensors, more interoperability, and key partnerships are giving rise highly personalized wellness experiences across the industry.
