Alchemy Springs Readies Thermal Wellness Club

Its flagship is just the start.

Alchemy Springs is the local hot spot.

What’s happening: The club will complete construction on its debut site in San Francisco this summer, creating an indoor-outdoor thermal wellness experience.

V1. Operating as “Sauna Garden” since last May, CEO Anne Cannady called its initial phase a “preview” — a chance to “walk the talk on building community.”

Running the largest-known freestanding sauna in the US, outdoor garden with cold plunges, and class programming four days per week, its limited offering is SF’s worst-kept secret.

Over six months, its traffic grew 20% MoM, with revenue rising 236%. All word-of-mouth, it hosts run clubs and startup launch parties while landing official after-parties for Dreamforce and JPMorgan Health Week.

V2. Tripling capacity, its buildout will introduce a second communal sauna capable of reaching 200℉, steam room, in-ground soaking and plunge pools, plant-filled greenhouse, and tea lounge.

Creating a “warm glow” for relaxing and stretching, it’ll outfit the walls, floor, and benches of communal spaces with next-gen infrared heating components — with no time limit on visitors’ stays.

All hands. Earmarking a funding round to open 10 sites in 10 years, it wants to reshape culture.

Not alone, Cannady revealed an alliance among operators to promote social thermal bathing as an American way of life — with voices from Sauna House, Therme, Othership, and more recently meeting to collectively drive the category forward.

Punchline: Elevating the experience while honoring traditions, Alchemy Springs and other communal bathhouses are bringing people together like nothing else in wellness right now.
