The next phase of health innovation is about building platforms, not single products.
David Protein’s parent company scales up.
Medici Brands just raised $250M to build a house of health-focused food brands in a Series B round co-led by Greenoaks and Valor Equity Partners.
- David launched with a single protein bar in 2024 and has since expanded into frozen desserts and RTD shakes. It’s now sold in 35K+ retail locations and is on track to surpass $300M in 2026 revenue.
- Medici is using the capital to expand David, scale HallPass, and launch its third brand, Rowdy.
The strategy is bigger than protein: use food science and better macros to remake familiar categories without asking consumers to give up taste.
Oura brings its menopause assessment into clinical care
The company is integrating the tool with 10 partners across menopause care, primary care, telehealth, and hormone tracking, including Alloy, Maven, Gennev, Wisp, and Tia.
The Menopause Impact Scale (MIS) measures the impact of menopause across 22 symptoms and 7 domains.
With 600K+ members completing the assessment since its May launch, the move shifts Oura from collecting health data for consumers toward making that data useful inside real-world care workflows.
OpenAI is linking ChatGPT to Epic
The integration lets authorized clinicians pull patient information into ChatGPT, including clinical notes, lab results, medications, and specialist documentation. It also works directly inside supported Epic workflows.
UCSF Health is piloting the integration, while OpenAI has also added access to nine official public health data sources, including ClinicalTrials.gov, CMS, DailyMed, and PubMed.
Evolving beyond a standalone tool, AI is moving deeper into the systems clinicians already use.
