Garmin’s 2025 year-end data revealed activity levels rising across the board, with gym, studio, and court-based workouts leading the way.

Just move. Garmin users tracked 8% more activities in 2025 than last year, taking 1.2% more steps. With running and walking taking the top spots, >50% logged 8K+ daily steps.

Gains. Strength training continued its surge, up 29% and posting its fourth consecutive year of 20%+ growth. Hitting the weights, women logged 6% more strength sessions than men.

Run wild. Experiencing a cultural renaissance, every running format ticked up. Boosted by run clubs and trail runs, outdoor running climbed 6% YoY, while hikers logged 12% more outings. Satisfying social, emotional, and mental needs, running’s momentum shows no signs of slowing.

The hits. Powered by pickleball and padel, racket sports are the fastest-growing activity, with Pilates and HIIT close behind. Community-minded, activities on the court and reformer continue to move from hype to habit.

Looking ahead: Validated by gym traffic, data uploads, and real-world behavior, fitness is a cultural movement reshaping everyday life beyond the workout.
