Technogym Launches Treadmill World Championship

Competitive fitness.
RUN X
Technogym

Technogym is joining the race.

What’s happening: The Italian fitness manufacturer launched RUN X, a global treadmill running championship sanctioned by World Athletics.

Remote work. Hosting 5K races on its connected equipment, Technogym will sign fitness clubs as affiliates — with members accessing a real-time leaderboard with certified results and winners advancing from regional semis to vie for $100K in prizes.

Lock in. With equipment in ~100K facilities across 120 countries, Technogym already has the world’s largest network of connected treadmills. Turning its hardware advantage into a competitive platform, the company is tapping the rises of running, fitness racing, and social training — while adding another layer to its ecosystem.

Amazing race. As fitness racing explodes in popularity, competition is getting heated. Operators like Gold’s Gym and Everlast are building HYROX performance centers, while Life Time, The Athletic Clubs, and Australia’s REVL Training launched their own events.

Joining Techno in the esports arena, World Rowing partnered with Ergatta, MyWhoosh hosts the digital cycling championships, and Zwift reupped with Tour de France Femmes.

Punchline: After an era marked by CrossFit’s rise and fall, fitness is competitive again — with exercisers seeing races and marathons as rites of passage and operators eager to join in.
