Happy Health is circling diagnostics.
What’s happening: The clinical-grade smart ring maker raised $75M in funding as it pursues AI-enabled, continuous care.
Sweet dreams. Born as a mood tracker, Happy Health’s namesake ring pivoted toward clinical applications, securing FDA clearance as a medical device and another authorization to accurately diagnose sleep conditions like sleep apnea, insomnia, and snoring.
With nationwide insurance coverage, users can receive a diagnosis within five days, with the Happy Sleep platform routing them directly to doctor-prescribed intervention.
Counting sheep. By 2050, ~77M adults will have obstructive sleep apnea, with the majority unaware. A major risk factor for cardiometabolic disease, Happy Health is exploring sleep-observed diagnosis for physician-guided care across obesity, hypertension, and more.
Backed by virtual care infrastructure company OpenLoop, Happy could scale compliant sleep-as-a-service to other providers.
Punchline: The new front door to care, wearables are already considered medical devices to the masses. But, holding the right paperwork to diagnose, Happy Health is a darkhorse clinical contender.
